Business Shirt Service for Doral Professionals
If a collared shirt is your working uniform, shirts are a recurring cost rather than a one off purchase. Treating them well is straightforwardly cheaper than replacing them.
Launder, do not dry clean
The most common and most expensive mistake is dry cleaning cotton shirts.
Dry cleaning uses solvent rather than water. That is correct for wool and structured tailoring, and wrong for cotton. Body oils, perspiration and deodorant residue are water soluble, and solvent does not lift them nearly as well. Shirts that are only ever dry cleaned come back pressed and looking fine while quietly greying at the collar and yellowing under the arms.
Laundering washes them in water and finishes them on shaped press equipment. That is where the crisp finish comes from, and it is genuinely not reproducible with a home iron.
What makes shirts last
- Send them in promptly. A three day old collar mark is a much easier job than a three week old one, because oil oxidises and sets into the fibre.
- Decide on starch deliberately. Heavy starch looks sharp and is abrasive over time. That is a trade, and it should be one you make knowingly rather than by default.
- Point out stains. Saying what caused it changes how it is treated.
- Hang rather than fold if the shirt goes straight back into rotation.
- Rotate. Shirts worn in strict rotation last measurably longer than the same number worn favourites first.
Humidity is part of the problem
This climate is hard on shirts specifically. You perspire more, so deodorant and body oil transfer more heavily, and closed closets hold moisture. Shirts that sit in a hamper for a week in Florida are in a considerably worse state than the same shirt in a dry climate.
That is the real argument for a fixed weekly collection rather than an occasional one.
How a weekly service runs
We collect on a set day, shirts come back on hangers ready for the week, and nobody has to think about it again. Dry cleaning, suits and household laundry can be added to the same bag whenever you need, and come back separated.
Collection and delivery are free. If you want it collected from an office rather than home, that is normal.
